Eligibility depends on the home and existing fuel
For the enhanced route, the property must meet the current off-gas-grid requirements and the heating system being replaced must use oil or LPG. The property must not be connected to a heat network, and new-build properties do not qualify for this enhanced route.
A capped or clamped gas meter can still mean a property is treated as mains-gas fuelled. Final eligibility is confirmed through the official Boiler Upgrade Scheme process, and support remains subject to the live scheme rules, property and technology eligibility, funding availability and Ofgem approval.
